The Mineral Sheet
What is it, concretely?
Mineral Sheet is an innovative material that goes by several names depending on manufacturers and regions of the world. It can be found under the names Stone Paper, Rock Paper, Paper made from Stone, Mineral Paper, TerraSkin, Limestone Paper, as well as French terms such as Papier Minéral, Feuille Minérale, Papier de Pierre, Papier Roche, or Papier à Base de Minéraux.
Despite these variations in name, it is always a paper composed mainly of mineral powder and a polymer binder, offering unique properties: waterproofness, strength, and durability. This diversity of names reflects the wide range of applications for this revolutionary material, at the crossroads of innovation and ecology.
It is designed to replace some fiber-based papers and cardboards, as well as certain plastics, in uses where mechanical strength, surface quality, and durability are required.
In practice, it is a “sheet” that can be handled like a high-end paper/plastic substrate, but whose base is mineral and not fibrous.

A new generation of mineral materials, with no compromise for the planet or creativity.

Composition & Fundamental Principle
Conformity by nature, not by treatment
The mineral sheet possesses intrinsic barrier properties, which are not added on the surface.

At the core of the material
80% mineral phase
Locally valorised mining residues, based on calcium carbonate and marble
20% non-toxic resin
HDPE and patented bio-based resin, acting as a binder and matrix
Natural barrier to water and grease
This dense, crystalline structure allows
High rigidity and resistance
Dimensional stability
Interesting during transformation

THE MATERIAL
A paper designed for a sustainable future
The Mineral Sheet is designed according to the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) model, a circular approach that ensures clean production and a sustainable life cycle. It is based on the idea that every material should be reused or reintegrated into nature without loss of value. This model, also known as "from cradle to cradle", turns waste into resources and minimizes environmental impact at every stage of the process.

The Mineral Sheet
An ecological and social revolution
The Mineral Sheet embodies a sustainable innovation that redefines our way of producing and consuming paper. More than just an ecological alternative to traditional paper, it is now manufactured in the Mediterranean basin, bringing major environmental, economic, and social benefits.

Environmental Benefits
The mineral sheet has been designed to meet concrete objectives of impact reduction
These elements make it a credible support for CSR strategies and procurement policies aiming to reduce material footprint, water use, energy, and regulatory risks.

No Fibres, Less Pressure on Forests
0 trees felled for 1 ton of mineral sheet, thanks to a 100% fibre-free composition

Less Virgin Plastic
A resin content limited to approximately 20%, coupled with a predominantly mineral base, reducing dependence on pure polymers for demanding applications

0 Litres of Process Water for the Material
The manufacturing cycle does not require water to form the sheet, unlike traditional paper

0% of Necessary Chemicals
No added chemistry to create barrier properties, already intrinsic to the material

Low-Energy Manufacturing
Up to approximately −60% energy compared to traditional paper, and a carbon footprint reduction of around −67% per tonne produced (indicative order of magnitude)

Recyclability & Virtuous Cycle
Recyclable and upcyclable material in suitable channels, enabling a more virtuous cycle end-to-end, with a logic of mineral waste revalorisation.

Regulatory Alignment
Designed to comply with major European and national frameworks: REACH, PPWR, Green Deal, EUDR, food contact issues, market access maintenance and reduction of fine risks
Key Technical Properties
The mineral sheet is designed as a complete industrial material for R&D, production, and technical teams
These elements make it a credible support for CSR strategies and procurement policies aiming to reduce material footprint, water use, energy, and regulatory risks.
Mechanical & barrier performances
Tear resistance superior to coated paper
Natural waterproofing, without additional treatment
Grease resistance: intrinsic grease barrier
Durability 2 to 20 times superior to many traditional substrates, depending on usage
Transformation
& versatility
Adaptation to approximately 90% of existing equipment, combining the advantages of paper and synthetic materials
Compatibility with processes from paper, plastic, or synthetic industries
Density around 1.2 g/cm³, variable according to ranges
Advanced possibilities: 3D printing, extrusion, multilayer, flame retardant or food-safe versions depending on projects
Printing
& finishes
Offset / large editions, UV digital / high-definition UV, HP ColorLok inkjet, flexography, screen printing, painting, foiling / metallisation without pre-treatment, selective UV varnish
Up to −50% ink consumption, thanks to the nature of the surface
0% waste compared to paper in certain production configurations (accompanied industrial objective)
Natural Soft Touch texture, natural whiteness without optical brighteners
Durability
& end of life
Photodegradable
in 12 to 18 months if left outdoors, depending on exposure
Washable and reusable,
multiple cycles possible depending on the application
Infinitely recyclable
in suitable loops, with a regenerative material logic
