Panibag® provides lasting support to the baking industry

Panibag has established itself among artisan bakers, industrial players, and European resellers in the sector with its eponymous bread crate cover. Recyclable and compostable, it is the solution for complying, among other things, with health and safety standards. Led by Ludovic Rey, Panibag is also a structure that supports baking professionals as their trade evolves. An interview.
What are the challenges behind the industry’s transformation?
“As an artisan baker, I face the demands and constraints of the job; tasks such as cleaning take the artisan away from their craft.”
Simplifying the baker’s work and providing cost-effective, high-performance solutions so they can focus on their core craft is at the heart of Panibag’s approach, thanks to innovative, eco-friendly and responsible solutions.
Is the principle behind the Panibag bread crate cover based on this premise?
This patented Cover prevents the spread of crumbs and flour wherever crates are handled and transported, and reduces soiling. By shortening cleaning time and reducing water use, the impact is immediate and long-lasting. Sensitive to environmental and hygiene issues, I designed it in brown kraft paper. Micro-perforated, the packaging helps regulate moisture transfer while preserving the bread’s crisp qualities.
“The use of this patented material addresses customers’ strong concerns regarding hygiene and ecology.”
Is the environment at the core of Panibag’s DNA?
Our organization focuses its research on new materials to provide long-term solutions in packaging and processes. Committed stakeholders across the baking industry contribute to the development of new practices, and other sectors may also benefit from these advances.
Key figures
One Panibag Cover can transport approximately 3,500 baguettes over multiple uses.
With its use:
cleaning frequency is divided by 3
cleaning time is divided by 2.5
the amount of water used is divided by 4
